What Is Speed Skating?
Speed skating is the sport of racing on ice skates, inline speed skates, or quad roller speed skates. The sport of speed skating originated on the ice, some time in the 1300’s on the ice of the Netherlands. The men’s speed skating race event was first added to the Winter Olympics in 1924. It was not until the 1960 Winter Games that the women’s speed skating events would be added to the Olympics.
What Are The Types of Speed Skating
There are a few types of speed skating, including ice speed skating and roller speed skating. Ice speed skating, often referred to as speed skating, which includes long track speed skating and short track speed skating. The other type of speed skating is known as roller speed skating, which includes inline speed skating and it’s predecessor quad speed skating.
